Business advice for social entrepreneurs here

If you feel like your organisation needs a bit of rocket fuel, Hatch, a social enterprise incubator based down in Brixton, has announced a peer accelerator programme.

By utilising the knowledge of successful social entrepreneurs and a “tried and tested programme methodology” (their words), they’re dangling the carrot of resilience, financial stability and improved social impact for your organisation.

They’re offering help with legal issues, procurement, crowdfunding and funding.

The course lasts 6 months (+3 months mentorship) and costs £500, but Hatch tell us that full subsidies will be available for the majority of organisations accepted onto the programme. Applications need to be in by 15th November.

They’re looking for growing social enterprises between 1-5 years old, who have an annual turnover of £50 - £150K (including grant income), have 2-5 members of staff and are seeking to raise funds through crowdfunding and/or social investment in the next 18-24 months. Contact Hatch for more details

And they’re not the only ones trying to accelerate you.

Spring Impact’s Scale Accelerator also runs for 6 months and aims to “help mission driven organisations scale their impact and change more lives”.

There’s a lot of good further information on their website - they're offering bespoke consultancy and support after the programme finishes.

The blurb also includes a quote from one or our alumni, Spark Inside, calling it a “transformational experience.” We presume that was founder Baillie; if you’d like to speak to her about it, let us know and we’ll try and put you in touch.

This one is for organisations impacting social challenges such as homelessness, current or historic offenders, substance misuse, mental health, domestic violence and abuse.

And the bonus is that full subsidies will be available for the majority of organisations accepted onto the programme. You have to apply for the 9th October.
