Makers Valley is a deprived area of east Johannesburg that is home to an increasing number of makers and doers: artists, cultural practitioners, artisans, urban gardeners, carpenters, shoemakers, metal and woodworkers, clothing designers and others.

The key purpose of Makers Valley Partnership is to facilitate effective support for Makers Valley’s social and creative enterprise vision.

We do this by offering or facilitating relevant and distinctive services that build entrepreneurial capacity, neighbourhood wellbeing, social capital, and the potential for sustainable transformation for the youth and community members of Makers Valley.

The session with Tom was truly enlightening. His vast experience was a perfect match and made for a rich engagement. I left our session with renewed energy and I feel like I have some concrete actionable next steps to focus on for moving forward.
