Joanna Carr is the Head of Current Affairs for BBC News, overseeing Panorama and BBC News’ Long Form Audio department. She is also the Commissioner for TV Current Affairs for BBCs 2,3 and iPlayer.

Jo’s stage presence, energy and interview skills make her the perfect choice to host your fire side chat or book launch, or to chair your panel. She brings credibility, professionalism and style to internal and external event audiences and is particularly suited to handle more complex or challenging topics (or guests!).

Between 2009-2016, Jo was Editor of PM, iPM and Broadcasting House on Radio 4, where she and the team won 4 Gold Radio Academy Awards in 5 years, including Best News and Current Affairs Programme. Jo conceived and edited The Robert Peston Interview Show (with Eddie Mair).

She joined the BBC in 1997 as a news trainee, and worked on theWorld at One/ PM and Newsnight as a producer, before moving to BBC1 for the launch of the Politics Show.  She has worked in Washington DC as Justin Webb’s producer. She read English and History at Oxford University, taking a first-class degree.
