Heidi and Phil can share their insights and experiences around how business can become a force for good by better articulating their purpose, activating their brands and accelerating their impact.

They are recognised as two of the top 100 social impact professionals in the world today by Real Leaders, which also lauded their company Grounded as one of the  top 200 global social impact companies along with Tesla, Johnson & Johnson, Danone, Patagonia and Ben & Jerry’s.

As partners in business and life Heidi and Phil originally met when they led the Unilever business across North America for communications company WPP (Phil, strategy and Heidi, creative). After winning several Effie marketing Awards a feeling of utter deflation followed. They met the next day to figure out why and came to the conclusion that doing good and making money didn’t need to be mutually exclusive. Having had the privilege of working more closely with the United Nations around the Sustainable Development Goals, they also realized that humanity’s greatest challenges also presented them with some of the world’s most ambitious business opportunities.

As a result, in 2018, they started Grounded World , a multi-award winning B-corp certified brand activation and social innovation agency – with one foot firmly planted in purpose and the other in profit. The agency thrives at the intersection of brand purpose, commercial strategy and social impact and they work with big companies such as Nestle and the Ford Motor Company and global nonprofits such as The World Food Programme, St Jude’s Hospital and Plan International.
