Lord Victor Adebowale

Victor Adebowale

Victor Adebowale is a respected entrepreneur, leadership coach, thought leader and communicator. With a deep-rooted passion for enhancing community access to vital services, he has made a significant impact across various sectors through his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to social justice.

A prominent figure in the world of social enterprise, Victor is the founder and Chair of the social consultancy Collaborate CIC and Visionable, a ground-breaking health technology company. He is the Chair of IPPR (The Institute For Public Policy Research) an independent charity working towards a fairer, greener and more prosperous society. He has led multiple large-scale national organisations, including Turning Point who deliver health and social care services to approximately 100,000 individuals every year.

He founded Leadership in Mind and coaches chief executives and senior leaders in the public, private and non-profit sectors, focusing on empathetic and impactful systemic leadership.

Additionally, he serves as the Chair of Social Enterprise UK and the NHS Confederation, where his strategic insights and advocacy drive meaningful change. He served for 9 years as a non-executive Director of the Co-Operative Group.

Beyond his executive roles, Victor has chaired numerous high-profile commission reports on issues such as policing, employment, mental health, housing and fairness. His work with The London Fairness Commission, the Metropolitan Police and various government bodies has influenced policy and sparked important conversations around equity, change and justice.

Victors exceptional service to the unemployed and homeless earned him a CBE, and in 2001, he was appointed a crossbench peer.

Academically, Victor is a visiting Professor and Chancellor at the University of Lincoln, elected as a Visitor of St Catherine’s college, Oxford, an honorary member of the Institute of Psychiatry, and the President of The International Association of Philosophy and Psychiatry. He has also received multiple honorary doctorates and is Governor Emeritus at The London School of Economics. He holds an MA in Advanced Organisational Consulting from the Tavistock Institute and City University, further solidifying his organisational development and leadership expertise.

Victor often appears on radio and television featuring on popular programmes including BBC’s Question Time and Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs. His multifaceted career is a testament to his relentless pursuit of social equity, innovative leadership approach, and profound and relentless impact on communities across the UK and beyond.
