Ryan Prince

Founder, UNCLE
Ryan Prince

Frustrated by the lack of decent living accommodation in the UK, Ryan Prince established the UNCLE brand in 2017.

UNCLE aims to take the ‘lord’ attitude out being a landlord by offering design-savvy apartments combined with a straight-talking, no-nonsense approach for renters who are tired being treated like second-class citizens in their own homes.

Since its launch, UNCLE has opened four locations with three more on the way, totalling 2,000 apartments in London and Manchester.

But he was an entrepreneur from an early age. Following a post graduate degree at the London School of Economics aged 21, Ryan co-founded iGabriel, an early stage technology venture capital firm with investors including Lord Myners, Peter Gabriel and Brent Hoberman.

Ryan’s property career kicked off when he established the international arm of the Realstar Group of companies in 2002.

Since that time, Ryan has led the firm’s overseas efforts in the healthcare, hospitality, student housing and professional living sectors.

The firm has gone on to acquire or develop in excess of £2.5B assets including the UK’s largest hotel real estate transaction, a £1B portfolio of Holiday Inn hotels, comprising over 13,000 rooms in a joint venture with the government of Singapore’s investing arm and Lehman Brothers, which it successfully sold in 2015.

Ryan is also Chairman of the UK advisory board of Facing History & Ourselves, a not‐for‐profit organisation that works with students to take an active role in society in fighting racism and intolerance.

Ryan asked great questions and was generous with his experience and insights. I left the meeting motivated and I’ve been able to refine our strategy which in turn will allow us to create more impact. I’d totally recommend it to anyone needing some clarity.

Ryan was incredibly insightful and made sure we made the most of every second – the hour flew by and I left with some actionable pointers which were mixed with his impressive strategic insight.

Ryan was quick to pinpoint the root of our challenge and the options available to us. He unlocked some potential new solutions that I had otherwise dismissed but thanks to his insight I will investigate further. He was easy to talk to, taking note of the specifics of our predicament, and as such his guidance was laser guided and extremely helpful.

Ryan was a breath of fresh air. We spent the hour having an intelligent conversation about the issues, which left me energised and a little bit smarter. Importantly, Ryan’s expertise was underpinned by an ethical approach to business. I highly recommend both Ryan and Expert Impact.
